Spiritual warfare is the fight we are in while in this fallen world. Our fight is against spiritual evil in the unseen realms (the supernatural).
The churches I’ve attended don’t talk about it and the “Christian” health and diet books I’ve read don’t discuss it either and it is the key to our spiritual and physical health.
Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and how can we hear from Him when we are allowing things in our lives that are totally against God’s Spirit?!!
“Don’t team up with those that are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?” – 2 Corinthians 6:14 NLT
It’s time to expose the darkness and bring it into the light where it cannot hide – “Have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” – Ephesians 5:11 BSB
If our spiritual health is being compromised then so is our physical health. Spiritual health is more important but there are physical ramifications as well.
We may think that what we allow in our minds and bodies don’t really have an effect on us but is that really true?
And is our government, healthcare system and food companies helping or destroying us?
Remember, satan comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10) and don’t think he won’t use every resource available to him and his minions to do just that. He can’t steal us away from God but he can make sure (if we let him) that we are distracted and of no use to God especially through sickness.
We don’t have to live this way! In John 10:10, Jesus tells us that He came so that we might have life and have it abundantly. But we must do things God’s way not our way.
“‘My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the Lord. ‘And My ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts.'” – Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT
As I continue on this path, my next Scripture focus will be on Romans 12:1-2.
